The aim of the EMSOS nurse and
allied professionals symposium is to provide oncology and
orthopaedic nurses, physiotherapists, occupational
therapists, dieticians and other allied health
professionals a chance to explore and enhance their daily
practice and provide them with an opportunity to share
their experiences with colleagues all over Europe.
The meeting this year will consist of a mixture of
elective posters, papers and discussion groups. There are
no fixed topics and by doing this we are hoping to
encourage greater participation from a wider audience. The
meeting is usually attended by 40 – 50 nurses and allied
health professionals and is therefore the ideal
environment for those presenting for the first time.
All presentations will be in English. We accept that for
many nurses and physiotherapists this is not their first
language, do not worry you will get full support from this
small friendly group. Last year’s conference in Stuttgart
saw the introduction of a training day, this was an
excellent day and was invaluable to all the nurses and
allied health professionals who attended. We would
encourage you to attend this year’s training programme on
Wednesday 5th May in addition to the main
conference.
There is a lively social event
programme too. This will include a reception at the Sea
life centre and a Gala Dinner at the Botanical gardens.
The nurses local to the area will be more than happy to
give directions for those wishing to go shopping in the
Bull Ring Centre, one of Europe’s biggest shopping
outlets!
